The CEO of Wizz Air, Jozsef Varadi, has said the budget airline is in talks with Sarajevo Airport over potential flights. Speaking at a pan-European press conference today, Mr. Varadi noted, “We need to make a proper commercial agreement with Sarajevo. We are in talks with Sarajevo Airport but they are simply too expensive. They need to lower their costs”. The no frills airline will open a base in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s third largest city, Tuzla, this June. “We are highly excited for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Wizz Air is very well suited for that environment and we hope to replicate the success in Tuzla across Bosnia. The country is absolutely right for our business plan”, Mr. Varadi concluded.
Sarajevo + Wizz Air Base = Sarajevo as 4th largest airport in Ex-Yu after BEG, ZAG and SPU in the future.
ReplyDeleteFifth, Dubrovnik will be growing for the next few years ;))
Deletewhit SKP what we do ??? LoL cccc :))
DeleteEindhoven - Sarajevo would be great for me
ReplyDeleteWhat is it: airport needs to lower their cost, or Wizz needs to lower their expectations about 3EUR per passenger fee? Let's see Wizz give up on unrealistic expectations for once, they are more desperate to start SJJ than Sarajevo is desperate to get Wizz service. Sarajevo airport can force Wizz to pay much higher fees than Tuzla and Nis.
ReplyDeleteGood point!
DeleteBad point. Banjaluka tried to keep the prices high so wizzair switched to Tuzla. Zagreb raised prices, wizz canceled flights. Same goes for Belgrade. There are other airports and pax go for lower prices. No pax, no airlines = grass on the runway.
DeleteThere's no grass of the runway in ZAG and BEG. Wizz will have to start paying higher fees when they run out of Tuzlas.
