Air Croatia to lease ATR 42

Tuesday, March 24, 2015

Start-up Air Croatia has changed the operational aircraft for its flights from Zagreb to Budapest, Prague, Milan and Rome and will now operate a wet-leased ATR 42 aircraft instead of a planned Estonian Air Embraer E170 jet. The 48-seat ATR will be leased from Denim Air. Air Croatia will launch flights from Zagreb to Budapest and Prague on April 2 and to Rome and Milan on April 3. Jost Lammers, the Managing Director of Budapest Airport says, “This is tremendous news and another clear indication of our airport’s growing reputation, with airlines recognising the business and leisure opportunities available. We know demand is strong for this service to Zagreb and look forward to welcoming Air Croatia as a new airline partner”.

Denim air doesn't have ATR-42 in it's fleet. It has Fokker 50, 100 and Embrear E-145. This looks so fishy, moneygrabbing opportunity. I predict BWA scenario all over again. Lease of already leased aircraft with questionable AOC and no fly.

  3. Many months ago I said that an ATR was more suited to their proposed network compared to an E170.

Can someone please comment: Got some promo return tickets for the maidan flight from Zagreb to Budapest with Air Croatia. I litteraly have them on my e-mail and with the booking ref and everything. After some light reading about this topc I got suspicious and deicided to check the flights out and it turned out that Zagreb Airport has no clue about these guys flying in or out od ZAG, nor do they have them in and company list that has the authorisation to operate from ZAG.

    Any suggestions?
Do I pack and try to check in on APR 2 or stay at home and save myself the embarrassment?

Come to airport, make noise, ask for representative and than call 24Sata newspapers, or Jutarnji. You can also ask airport PR why they didn't do any statement regarding company which is advertising their flights from Zagreb.. and than nothing..
Butg, if you have had talked to AP information desk, than I wouldn't be surprised they know nothing; the informations they have are very limited and there were many occasions some airlines started flying with them having no official information.
