Montenegro Airlines has said it is continuing talks with Etihad Airways in a bid to finalise a Strategic Partnership Agreement with the Emirati carrier. In a statement to the “Vijesti” daily, the airline’s Chief Commercial Officer, Predrag Marković, said the two sides are currently discussing only commercial cooperation, adding that at this stage he is “not informed” of a potential equity investment on Etihad’s behalf. Last month, Montenegro Airlines’ CEO, Daliborka Pejović, said the agreement between the two carriers will be signed during the summer and will provide Montenegro Airlines with access to better airport handling services, reduced costs and other benefits enjoyed by Etihad on the market. The Montenegrin government has listed its carrier for privatisation this year.
