Montenegro’s two international airports, Podgorica and Tivat, have both seen their passenger numbers improve in 2014. Podgorica Airport welcomed 701.320 travellers, up 3% on 2013, while Tivat Airport continued to grow with 910.533 passengers handled, an increase of 5%. Tivat, which is Montenegro’s busiest airport, also saw a 1.2% increase in flight operations last year with a total of 5.294 arrivals and departures recorded. The airport’s busiest month was August, while it handled 749.155 passengers between May and October. The Montenegrin government recently said it was developing an expansion project for the coastal airport in order to address issues with capacity.
Yay, Sarajevo overran Podgorica :)
ReplyDeleteShould Wizz Air come to Sarajevo OR BWA become a normal airline, Sarajevo would become 3. or 4. biggest ex-yu airport.
DeleteIt is the 3. biggest agglomeration in ex yu and a region with 4. biggest economy.
Big problem is a "lack of cheap tickets" from SJJ toward Austria, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
