Ljubljana Airport overhaul in 2016

Monday, March 23, 2015

The Managing Director of Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, Zmago Skobir, has announced plans for the reconstruction of the airport’s existing passenger terminal. Work on the building is expected to begin next year if all goes according to plan, Mr. Skobir said in a short statement. The nature of the reconstruction and its costs have not been disclosed. Previously, the operator of Ljubljana Airport, Germany’s Fraport, said plans for a new terminal and runway will depend on passenger growth and are not expected in the short-term. Ljubljana Airport’s current passenger terminal was built in 1973 but has been reconstructed and refurbished since. It stretches over 13.000 square metres.
