Air Serbia in cargo deal

Air Serbia Cargo, the freight division of Air Serbia, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Global Logistics Network (GLN). In a statement, the airline says that the MoU marks an important step in Air Serbia's global commercial efforts in the freight transport sector, as Air Serbia Cargo will now be able to extend its services to a greater customer base worldwide. “The MoU will enable a closer connection and cooperation between Air Serbia Cargo and GLN with the aim of offering customers more options and increasing business opportunities”, the carrier says. Founded in 2003, and headquartered in the United States, Global Logistics Network encompasses a range of companies specialising in the logistics industry such as freight forwarders, transportation intermediaries and associated companies. GLN members count 639 offices in 320 cities and 124 countries with combined annual revenues of $9.9 billion handling over three million shipments per year. Air Serbia’s CEO, Dane Kondić, says, “In the years to come, cargo will be an area of significant growth for our industry and, by forging the right partnerships, Air Serbia Cargo is building its capability to fulfil this potential, as it develops into a regional industry leader. We look forward to working closely with the GLN network in a more enhanced way so as to build upon the relationships which we already have with some of GLN’s members”.
